Platier Oye Nature Reserve

Enclosed by the towns of Calais and Dunkirk, the natural reserve Platier Oye is the first feed zone on the Manche coast / North Sea encountered by migrants on way to their winter quarters. From the filling of the estuary of the Aa, dating until St Omer, the polder Platier was formed relatively recently and almost naturally.

Classified in 1987, the Platier is undoubtedly one of the 1st ornithological gems of the Nord Pas de Calais department with 230 species of birds observed including 85 of heritage interest. The flora along allows observation of 361 species. One can also observe the horses and cows Island.

New roads accessible to disabled and strollers let you enjoy much of the area.
